Who organized?

Mark your calendars for a trip to Lake Maria State Park June 6-8. The park has nesting osprey and eagles, 4 species of owls, bats, moles, red fox, mink, beaver, endangered blandings turtles and many other animals. It also has 14 miles of trails to hike. The park also has canoe and boat rentals.

The park staff said the group campsites are a short walk from the parking lot.

I plan to arrive at the park by 1pm so feel free to get there early.

Directions and more information to come. The $25 covers the campsite and firewood.

    Had a great time, good group of people, weather was perfect, starry skys both nights, saw a bald eagle guarding its nest while canoeing, could hear the sounds of several species of owls during the night.

    This is a great state park. It's close enough to the cities that even if you can't camp, but want to join the group during the day to hike and/or canoe, you can.
