Join us for a camping trip to Father Hennepin State Park June 27-29. The park is located on the southeast corner of Mille Lacs Lake. It has a sandy swimming beach, a scenic overlook, interpretive hiking trails, fishing piers, docks and a fish cleaning shelter. The park is also home to several albino deer, beaver, and mink. Bald Eagles also can be seen in the park. Mille Lacs Lake has walleye, northerns, bluegills and sunfish.

We will be in group campsite 6. It is a short walk from the parking area. We are 'supposed' to only have 6 tents so people may have to share if more then 6 people camp.

On Saturday the park will have two presentations about the states history. Click here for more information on these presentations.

The cost will be $25, based on 6 people, if more then 6 attend refunds will be given at the park.

The book was Mental Floss: Scatterbrained. If you can't find that one, you can't go wrong with any of the Mental Floss books (or the magazine). http://www.amazon.com/gp/fe...

The state park rule is: Pets are welcome in state parks but must be kept on a leash of not more than six feet and must be personally attended at all times. Personally, I would like it if you did but can only speak for myself.
